Lada last sold cars in the UK in 1997, when they were forced out due to the restrictions on emissions.  However they've since continued to be a prominent motor in Russia.

The company owned by Renault Group source at least 20% of their parts from outside of Russia.  Renault of course being a global manufacturer which is 15.01 French state owned.

With sanctions imposed by the West, the firm are unable to pay for these parts in rubles, which has fell to a record low as a direct result of the sanctions.  1 ruble is now worth £0.0064 gbp

Renault continue to supply Europe with other models and perform strongly in the European leasing sector with Mitsubishi lease deals, Dacia lease deals, Nissan lease deals and Renault lease deals.
