Skoda Car Leasing

Skoda is part of the VW Group so you automatically know that build quality and reliability is more or less guaranteed; Skoda are so confident they’ve now enhanced their 3 year warranty by ensuring the first 2 years of the warranty period is available with unlimited mileage. Since 2000, Skoda has won many UK awards including 2010 What Car Best Manufacturer. Over recent years Skoda have expanded their range to include new models such as the Karoo. Skoda’s fastest car The Octavia vRS was unveiled at Goodwood in July 2013, which bears remarkable resemblance to its family member the Audi A4 S-Line and is certainly helping Skoda appeal to the younger generation now as well as maintaining those loyal longer term customers, with those previous stigmas of “old mans” car slogans most definitely a thing of the past!

When selecting a Skoda lease the 2 main factors that affect any potentially monthly cost is purchase price and re-sale value. Any re-sale value will take into account reliability, desirability and build quality, which Skoda scores high with meaning that all these factors put together will make any Skoda perfect for leasing. National Vehicle Solutions has some very cheap Skoda lease deals, which will save you money! Leasing a Skoda is cost effective and smart. You can even opt to take out a maintenance plan, meaning you can budget for the vehicle all year around! Don’t forget that manufacturers warranty and limited breakdown assistance will come standard for a period of time. You can design the lease to suit you, with flexible initial rentals, fixed monthly repayments and the ability to change your annual mileage and term. All of our car leasing deals include road tax. It’s important to design the lease to suit you as any excess mileage will be charged at the end of the contract.

Skoda Lease Questions

The process can vary slightly between funders. Manufacturer funders such as VWFS will make contact with you before the end of your car lease, reminding you to start searching for your next lease car. Whilst the UK’s largest lease companies for example Lex Vehicle Leasing and Arval will not remind you, instead they’re more likely to amend your monthly repayment to a true monthly figure, usually prompting you to make contact with them. Larger leasing companies such as Arval and Lex vehicle leasing rely on the introducer (broker or dealer) to make contact with customers to help them choose their next lease car. For example if your contract is underwritten by Arval and it was initially over 2 years based on a 6+23 profile, if you’ve not made contact with them to make arrangements for the vehicle to be handed back, they’ll assume a rolling contract. They’ll take your current monthly payment and profile to find the true monthly cost and charge that amount per month until the vehicle is returned. If the monthly payment was £300 over 6+23 that’s cost £8,700 over 24 months do the true monthly cost was £362.50 per month.

Some funders do allow contract extensions instead of rolling contracts. If you contact the lease company directly, you usually find that the new repayment is less than the rolling monthly figure, but you will need to commit to either a 6 or 12 month extension. It’s not uncommon for customers to extend their lease if the new lease car that they’ve ordered is delayed at the factory.

Once you’ve had contact with the leasing company, they’ll provide a contact number to a third party, usually Manheim or BCA as the lease cars tend to go to auction at the end of the contract. Make sure that you make contact with them well in advance to allow the initial inspection to take place on a different day to the actual collection. By doing this it gives you the opportunity to arrange any repairs yourself should any damage fall outside of the BVRLA fair wear and tear guide, which is used as an industry standard. The fair wear and tear guide is realistically written with the knowledge of the vehicle now being a used vehicle, so it’s very generous in what it categorises as fair wear against that of damage. On the day inspection takes place, the appointed person will fully inspect the vehicle, take photographs and produce a report. The report will include any details of unacceptable damage, which you’d have the opportunity to repair before the inspector next comes back to collect the vehicle. On the day of collection another inspection will take place with a report being issued. We recommend that you keep copies of any receipt showing work carried out and read the report thoroughly before signing. If you’re not happy with the contents of the report you can contact the BRVLA as an intermediary for help, advice and guidance. National Vehicle Solutions can supply you with a document and links to help you understand the fair wear and tear guide better.

Any invoice for excess mileage will be charged by the funder after the car is collected. The agent will make a note of the mileage upon collection. The service book will be checked and any missed services would be charged, it’s therefore important to ensure that the service book is stamped and any invoices are retained after each service.
